On February 12, 2026, an agreement was signed in Bishkek between the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for a concessional loan of $50 million for the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The funds will be used to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises implementing green and resource-saving projects that:
reduce energy consumption and operating costs;
implement energy-efficient equipment;
develop renewable energy sources;
modernize production processes;
reduce negative environmental impacts.
The project will increase investment in sustainable SME initiatives, improve the technological level of enterprises, strengthen the competitiveness of domestic businesses, create new jobs, and contribute to the achievement of national climate and social priorities. The project’s effective implementation is ensured by the coordinated efforts of the State Development Bank and the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. These joint efforts aim to expand entrepreneurs’ access to long-term financing and support economic modernization for the country’s sustainable growth.
