The State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has begun financing the construction project for the Konur-Oguz small hydropower plant. The groundbreaking ceremony was held with the participation of representatives of government agencies, local governments, regional residents, and project partners.

The small hydropower plant will be built on the Konur-Oguz River in the Jalal-Abad region. Its installed capacity will be 3.5 MW, with an annual output of 15.6 million kWh of electricity.
The project will contribute to increasing the country’s generating capacity, developing renewable energy sources, and improving the reliability of the region’s power supply. The plant’s construction will also have a positive impact on the socioeconomic development of the region by attracting investment, creating jobs, increasing tax revenues, and developing related infrastructure.

The project is being implemented in accordance with state priorities for the development of hydropower and the expansion of renewable energy sources, aimed at strengthening the country’s energy security.

By supporting the construction of small hydropower plants, we invest not only in new energy capacity but also in the sustainable development of regions, increasing the country’s investment attractiveness, and building a modern energy infrastructure. The implementation of such projects contributes to the achievement of the strategic goal of providing the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic with affordable, reliable, and environmentally friendly electricity.”

The State Development Bank will continue to finance strategically important investment projects in energy, industry, infrastructure, and other priority sectors of the economy, promoting sustainable economic growth, increasing the country’s competitiveness, and improving the quality of life of the population.
