On July 9, 2026, a presentation of the project “Development of a Sustainable Financial Market for Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic” was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic for the country’s financial institutions. It was chaired by Nurbek Akzholovich Akzholov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of this project, the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic provides funds on preferential terms to commercial banks and microfinance organizations for further financing of businesses implementing green projects in accordance with the Green Taxonomy of the Kyrgyz Republic, approved by Resolution No. 246 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated April 30, 2025.
The taxonomy covers a wide range of sustainable development areas, including:
- Renewable energy sources;
- Energy efficiency;
- Green buildings and environmentally friendly transport;
- prevention and control of environmental pollution;
- sustainable water use and waste management.
The full list of eligible financing areas is defined by the Green Taxonomy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
