On September 30, 2026, the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic signed an agreement with Bakai Bank to provide financing under a program to support sustainable financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
BAKAI has become the latest partner bank of the State Development Bank under a wholesale financing mechanism aimed at expanding small and medium-sized businesses’ access to preferential financing for projects in the green economy, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.
The mechanism envisions the State Development Bank providing resources to partner banks for on-lending to entrepreneurs at an 8% per annum interest rate in national currency for up to 5 years.
Under the program, entrepreneurs will be able to use the funds received, among other things, for the installation of solar panels and other clean energy sources, the acquisition and implementation of energy-efficient equipment, the implementation of projects aimed at reducing resource consumption and improving the environmental efficiency of production, clean transportation, and women’s entrepreneurship.
“Expanding our range of partner banks makes sustainable financing instruments more accessible to entrepreneurs across the country. The partnership with BAKAI will be another step in developing a mechanism that connects the development institution’s resources with the needs of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses,” noted Bakai Bekbolatovich Aidaraliev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Development Bank.
