The State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic continues to consistently support strategically important projects in the energy sector.
As part of the objectives of developing sustainable infrastructure and stimulating the regional economy, the Bank financed the project of ChuiRusHydro LLC — the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant (SHPP) on the Tuyuk River in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region.
The total cost of the project is 516 million soms. The installed capacity of the SHPP is 7.5 MW, and the annual electricity generation will reach 29.16 million kWh. This volume is enough to provide electricity to up to 15,000 people, which will be a significant contribution to reducing the energy deficit in the region.
Key project results:
🔹 Job creation — 7 new jobs will be created during construction and operation.
🔹 Increase in tax revenues — annual payments to the state budget (taxes on profits, salaries, property and land) will amount to over 15 million soms with the prospect of annual growth.
🔹 Infrastructure development — the project includes the construction of power lines and substations, which will increase the reliability of energy supply and reduce accidents in the region.
🔹 Improving the quality of life of the population — access to stable electricity will reduce the population’s expenses on traditional energy sources (coal, firewood).
🔹 Environmental sustainability — the use of a renewable energy source will reduce CO₂ emissions and reduce dependence on hydrocarbon resources.
