Amid growing domestic demand for electricity, the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic signed an agreement with Ananyevo Hydroelectric Power Plant LLC to finance the construction of the Zhergez small hydroelectric power plant. The Zhergez small hydroelectric power plant will be located on the Zhergez River in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region.
The planned capacity of the Zhergez hydroelectric power plant is 6.36 MW, with an annual electricity generation of 28.9 million kWh. The Zhergez small hydroelectric power plant will generate enough electricity to power up to 15,000 people, making a significant contribution to meeting domestic electricity demand in the region.
