The State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in the 10th anniversary international congress “Hydropower: Central Asia and the Caspian,” held on April 7 and 8 in Bishkek with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the event, Bakai Aidaraliev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, delivered a presentation outlining the Bank’s activities and discussing opportunities for financing renewable energy projects. Particular attention was paid to support tools for initiatives aimed at developing sustainable energy and attracting investment in the renewable energy sector in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic is financing six hydroelectric power plants and one solar power plant. The projects’ combined installed capacity is 148.3 MW, with planned annual generation of 629.7 million kWh of electricity. Implementation of these projects will cover approximately 16% of the country’s current electricity deficit and improve the resilience of the national power grid.
