he State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has signed an agreement to finance the next phase of one of the country’s key energy projects – the construction of the Kulanak hydroelectric power station (HPP) in the Naryn region.
The Kulanak hydroelectric power station is being built on the Naryn River in the village of Kulanak. Its installed capacity will be 100 MW, and its annual electricity generation will reach 435 million kWh. This will improve the reliability of power supply for residents and businesses, as well as increase the share of clean generation in the country’s energy balance.
The State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic consistently supports projects aimed at modernizing energy infrastructure, enhancing energy security, and creating long-term conditions for sustainable economic growth. Financing the Kulanak HPP project is part of the Bank’s systematic support of strategic investment projects that form the foundation for the future economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic. Hydropower development is an investment in energy independence, industrial growth, and the well-being of future generations.
